A young Newark Valley man's dream came true when the Make-a-Wish Foundation presented William Stadelman with a welding shop in his family garage. Miller Electric Mfg. Co. district manager Todd Stowell was on-site to participate in the December 2010 presentation.
A young Newark Valley man’s dream came true when the Make-a-Wish Foundation presented William Stadelman with a welding shop in his family garage.
After suffering a head injury during a fencing class, doctors operated on William Stadelman’s brain to prevent an aneurysm. It was then that they discovered a malignant tumor. William underwent radiation and completed chemotherapy shortly before his 18th birthday, however the operation and related treatment caused him to miss a favorite activity; his welding classes.
Local companies including Miller helped donate upwards of $20,000 in equipment. Miller was honored to have been involved in the equipment donation, resulting in an unforgettable moment for William.

Even better for William — the Stadelman family says his prognosis is good, but he will continue to go in for MRI scans every three months to make sure nothing has changed.
