WCC System Specifications

Typical WCC System Configuration
The WCC System uses advanced digital serial
communication technology to send voltage command messages from the wire feeder to the WCC Control over the welding cable.
The WCC Control then commands the welding
power source via the 14-pin remote connection.

With a WCC-equipped VS feeder and power source you can change the output voltage at the feeder and save a trip to the power supply. No extra control cable to purchase, maintain, string or unstring—saving time and money. WCC also extends the remote control capability beyond the reach of a control cable system.

Ez-Bind™ Feature

  • Easily create a remote control connection. Prior to welding, hold the gun trigger for 5 seconds to establish a connection between the feeder and power supply via the weld cable.

  • Connect the SuitCase VS WCC to any WCC equipped power source (see ordering information) for remote voltage control. Feeders and power supplies can be mixed and matched.

  • Guarantees remote control operation with multiple power sources connected to the same work piece.

SuitCase X-TREME 8VS/12VS WCC Features

Improved contactor for high-amperage, high duty cycle applications (8VS: 330 A at 60%, 12VS: 425 A at 60%)

Polypropylene case with built-in slide rails and the ability to open the door to change wire with the feeder in a vertical position.

Circut BoardPotted and trayed main printed circuit boards for the harshest environments adds exceptional reliability. Motor control board has full-trigger isolation so a shorted gun trigger will not affect feeder operation.

Digital meters with SunVision™ technology are standard for voltage and wire speed, and can also display amperage if desired. Meters can be seen clearly even in direct sunlight.

Wider voltage range for small and large wires with no contactor chatter or arc outages.

Double-filtered gas valve helps keep dirt from clogging and affecting gas flow.

Excellent starts and improved superior arc performance for all types and sizes of wires whether using CV or CC power supply. Best low-end CC arc in the industry.

WCC Control Features

WCC Control communicates with WCC equipped SuitCase X-TREME wire feeder. Digital messages are passed between the WCC Control and feeder via the weld cable. WCC Control responds to the messages
and sets the power source voltage command in the 14-pin connector.

Easy installation — weld cable with connectors is provided for easy power source connection. Connect the 14-pin connector to the power source. Dinse and Tweco models are available.

Thermal overload protection protects internal components from damage and automatically shuts down the unit if duty cycle is exceeded or air flow and cooling are estricted

XMT Power Source Features

Wind Tunnel Technology™
Internal air flow that protects electrical components and PC boards from dirt, dust, debris... greatly improving reliability.

Fan-On-Demand™ operates only when needed reducing noise, power consumption, and the amount of airborne contaminants pulled through the machine.

Lift-Arc™ start provides TIG arc starting without the use of high frequency.

Adaptive Hot Start™ for Stick
Automatically increases output amperage at the start of a weld should the start require it and prevents the electrode from sticking and creating an inclusion.

Lightweight, aerospace-grade aluminum case offers protection with the benefit of reduced weight.

Inverter arc control technology provides greater puddle control for superior 6010 Stick electrode performance.

LVC™ Line Voltage Compensation keeps welding output constant even if input power varies by +/-10%. Line voltage compensation further expands to +37% and -59% when operating on 460 VAC.

Process selector switch reduces the number of control setup combinations without reducing any features.

Large, dual digital meters are easy to view and presettable to ease setting weld output.

Compatible with the Wireless Remote Hand Control. Improve productivity, eliminate clutter and cord tangles in the work area. Eliminate cord failure and associated downtime/repair costs and extend the operator's welding range without adding cord extensions. Note: excludes XMT 350 VS models.

XMT 350 CC/CV Additional Features

Auto-Line™ Power Management technology allows for any input voltage hook-up (208-575V) with no manual linking, providing convenience in any job setting. Ideal solution for dirty or unreliable input power.

Auto Remote Sense enables unit to automatically use remote control if connected to remote control receptacle (CC/CV models only).

Low OCV Stick — A built-in, selectable feature, that reduces the Stick mode open-circuit voltage (OCV) to nearly 15 volts when the welding power source is not in use. Eliminates the need for add-on voltage reducers.

Dinse- or Tweco-style weld disconnects provide high-quality weld cable connections.

Ultra-tough, polycarbonate-blended cover for control panel protects front controls from damage.

Optional gas solenoid for TIG welding.

Optional 115 VAC auxiliary power provides 10 amps of circuit-breaker-protected power for water circulators, etc.
