Reviews & Ratings

Rated 5 out of 5 by from there's only one problem with is hood that it doesn't want to stay up when you put it up other than that I love this hood I have about 50 hours of arc time with it and its not all that heavy it feels like it if you had a lighter one before

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is awesome This hood is great. I got it 2 or 3 weeks ago and it has been awesome since. the reaction time is phenomenal, you can have it off and as soon as you spark, it darkens out perfectly and stops when you are done (some helmets are not so exact) the Xmode feature is also great, i was stick welding and grinding mild steel outside and as most welders have tried, the helmet flickers back and forth as you look around but with Xmode, it does not darken until you spark, its a great feature. The grinding shield is also a big difference, if you manufacture and need to switch back and forth from grinding and welding, you just flip up, grind, flip down and weld. It saves a lot of time. Definetley worth the money and the best hood i have ever tried, I used the Elite series and Performance series and this one tops the chart

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hood for pros and even a beginner I bought this hood over a year ago. So far, I'm in love with it. I can't stress the importance of a hood that doubles as a grinding shield, especially without removing shades to do so. It is such a convenience to be able to flip the lense out of the way and have the protection of the hood still. I have had absolutely zero issues with the construction of it. Overall this is a 10 out of 10 hood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best helmet I've owned I've had this helmet for over a year now and it's by far the the best one I've tried the Lincoln Viking and it doesn't even compare to this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight and comfortable I have been using this helmet about a month now and I can't beat it. It's very light compared to my other helmets and very comfortable. When I flip it up it stays there and I don't have to worry about it falling while I'm moving around setting up pieces and at the end of the day I don't have a head ache from the weight on the back of my head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Helmet has outstanding features and is of the highest quality! This welding helmet has some of the greatest features one could ask for in an auto-darkening welding helmet! To be able to go from one welding process to another and back again with the push of a button is invaluable in time savings!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product! I'm a student at Hobart so I use this helmet for 8 plus hours a day and it works excellent. It even handled flux core surprisingly. The only down fall to this helmet is it does get rather heavy when welding for long periods of time. Other than that I would recommend it for any serious welder!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really nice design The 1600i overall is a really nice helmet. I prefer to use a passive lensed helmet over auto darkening so I was looking at one I could use as a grinding shield as well and this is definitely the helmet to go with. The viewing area while grinding is really big and it also has a pretty big viewing area while welding. The only thing that I find that this helmet has working against it is the fact that when you flip it down the back of the headband wants to ride up so you really have play with it to get the right fit.
