Rated 2 out of 5 by from Classic Series Helmet Flaws I have used the Classic Series Helmet for less than a year along with the Cool Band II system. After replacing the outside and inside lens covers for the first time, the outside cover holder will not clip back into the helmet. The inside clips do not lock the piece in place. I have a gap between the helmet ant the holder where light can get in. Spent way too much tie trying to get the cover to mount properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best shade 10 lens I've ever used I came from "The road" pipe welding to a factory that welds tanks and such. The tool room didn't carry my 4X2 clear lenses so my brother had this still in the box at the pawn shop he worked at. Other than the "Green shade" this is the best, most visible lens I've ever used as a "Shade ten" I can weld all day, see very clearly even with un-perfect vison, and my eyes never hurt after I'm done

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall it is a good helmet. Okay so i got this helmet cause i wanted one that was good for Tig, the functions and quality of everything as a whole is very good and does more then what i need really. Having said this, the first week i didnt like it, its a pretty heavy helmet and i was used to a very light cheap helmet which was annoying. The more ive worn it the more i like it though and i enjoy this helmet now much more then my other helmet. If your on the fence about this helmet, just get it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for certain applications The only problem I faced while wearing this hood is it's weight. If you we're using it in your garage for hobby welding it would work fantastic, but wearing it for an entire 8 hour work day really puts strain on your neck. The face shield has saved my face from sparks and hot pieces of slag which is a major bonus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great intro level welding helmet with great customer service. Needed a spare welding mask in a hurry. Paid for expedited shipping at 3PM, and my order was at the front door 9am the next day. Could not be more pleased with the customer service and quick delivery. The helmet is a pretty good piece of gear. Works fine for cutting, plasma, Alum TIG & MIG so far. My biggest complaint is that the sensitivity is way too strong. It is almost impossible to use this mask outdoors on a sunny day, even with the sensitivity all the way down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Light, Excellent Helmet I bought this helmet about 12 years when it was branded Hobart Hood. It has only recently stopped working, the solar cell doesn't stay charged anymore. No batteries, no need to turn on-it comes on automatically, so you just put it on and weld, external shade adjustment and its a dial so you can adjust right to where you want it with an arc on, and most important-it's the lightest auto darkening helmet in the industry. This last point about the weight is of utmost importance to me as I have a stiff neck issue, and even if I didn't this helmet is very light and comfortable. I have 12 years experience welding, all processes, and this helmet wont disappoint you. People describe it as beginner, or cheap, or entry-level, but I speak from experience it is very good.
