This is a swing and slide platform that I built for my little 4 year old girl Mackenzi. This project all started with the purchase of the yellow slide at a garage sale for $20. Her old swing set did not have a slide, so this was purchased to add it to the old swing set. I decided to make a whole new swing set and a platform for the slide to go on. The teeter totter on the swing was built out of junk materials, which I got at the junk yard for $8 dollars. The top of the swing set is made of 2" pipe and the brackets for the 4" x 4" posts were made from flat plate which I cut out and welded together. I left each end of the swing set pipe open, so I could make additional accessories to attach to the swing set ends. I have made one accessory which is attached to the end of the swing set and includes a disc swing. In the future I plan on adding something else on the other side. The platform for the slide has a square tubing cage around it to keep my little girl safe when she's up there; I made custom handrails, and custom steps to mount to the platform. The steering wheel on the slide platform was my little girl's special request, which I gladly added for her. I added loops on each side of slide, so little kids will have something to grab hold of when sliding down or climbing up. The platform base includes a good sturdy piece of plywood to stand on and beneath the platform I added a few bars underneath so kids can swing around on. My little girl was very excited to use her new playground equipment, enjoys using it with her little friends, and always has a very bright and cheerful smile on her cute little face when she plays on it. Seeing that little smile makes the whole project well worth it.
