This is a highly specialized filter used in the final stage of a unique substance generated by use of the Cell Culture process. Such an important filter deserves a "one of a kind" stand.
Since this was a unique project, there were no blue prints or plans generated for it, just a general idea of its purpose and the need for it to be cleanable (since it was to be used in a sterile environment). Each piece was hand fit and materials used was whatever was available at the time.
Building the stand made use of some 4" tubing, 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" solid rod, 1 1/2" solid round stock and 1" tubing with a couple elbows. Of course everything is 316L. Tools used for this project consisted of a Miller welder with a craftsman series liquid cooled TIG torch, a Dynabrade dynafile, a right angle die grinder and a host of 3M grinding products. Even made use of an antique South Bend lathe.
