    Default Choosing Tig Torch Adapter

    Hello all,

I purchased a valved CK trimline210 with a one piece superflex cable. My next move is getting it connected to my Maxstar 200 STR. I need a Dinse with a gas line so I can get gas to my torch.

I have a couple of questions. When determining which adapter to buy, I've run into a few snags. First of all, I came across this part by CK, and its described almost like a special connector made specifically for my torch. I don't really understand what could be different about it. These sales ads are very frustrating as they do not give all the specs on the fittings.. drives me nuts. So aside from advertised carrying capacity.. is the female fitting inside these things a different size for different torches? The trimline210 is advertised as being compatible with 17 series parts.. but in the case of the connector, stalled on what to do...

I have choice of a 17 compatible 150 Amp, a 26 series 200 amp.. or this "made for TL210 CK clam shell Safeloc contraption.(may have an advantage since I wouldn't have to patch in more gas line if I keep it close to the flow meter).

Here's a link to the CK product.

Otherwise, could I use either of the standard Miller adapters?

    Part# 195378 OR # 195379

These look the same but are rated 150 and 200 amps respectively. One is designated as 17 series compatible one is 26 series. Aside from carrying capacity, should I expect different sized female fitting inside of each connector or are they the same?

Any insight would be appreciated. I'm trying to gather up all needed components and I keep hitting road blocks!

    Many thanks.

Contact HTP. They sell a lot of CK product, and should be able to answer your questions.

Anything compatible with the Miller 195379 or that CK you mentioned will work. The 200A uses the large "26" thread Gas/Power fitting 5/8-18

I'd love for this to be true, but I keep running into the specs on the "26"/200amp versions of these adapters being 7/8" x 14 Right Hand.

    Check out the description here...

    https://www.arc-zone.com/index.php main_page=product_info&cPath=5_68_2072&products_id =2918

And here, specs out the 195379 (even though it is not the listing for actual Miller adapter as 7/8 14)

If you go down to the 150 amp or 17 sizes.. often the standard threading is
    3/8" x 24 rh...

    https://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_673_678_ 2142&products_id=2919

So I'm stuck in the middle wit the 5/8" RH

If you can link to any Miller/Lenco adapters that have the 5/8" internal female I'd love to see them. Not to be confused with size of the external gas hook up. Which is often listed in the specs and not the internal main cable hook up.

    Thanks

After further review, the CK TL210 takes the CK SL5-35 adapter and is the 5/8-14 thread, per the CK data. This is a Non-Standard Dinse Connector that is designed mostly for use with CK Worldwide's series of Contractor & TrimLine TIG Torches.

You may be restricted to the CK ---https://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?m...oducts_id=9100

My mistake on the 26 torch using 5/8-14 fitting.

Looks like without changing the fitting on the power cable, you must go with the CK adapter
