Think its a SD card, I call them all sim cards, Getting old and brainless, just know that the cards when I go get them are rather expensive, and I tend to loose them as they are small and go missing easily...

That's pretty neat. The upgrade will allow you set independent EN and EP amps and also independent wave shapes for each half cycle. So you could have advanced square wave on the EN half cycle and triangular for the EP half cycle.

This is an awesome upgrade in my opinion. Downloadable upgrades is already improving a machine that has hardly even been out for any length of time.
    Hopefully this trend will continue.

I hear rumblings about this upgrade being very expensive. Having never used amplitude, I'm unclear if it is a valuable feature, or a fancy shift knob?

Not yet. Kinda chickened out. I need to get a few more bikes out the door and pad the bank account a bit more first. Soon though. Can't wait!

I only referenced the cost over on WW because the only current upgrade available is just over a grand. If this one is priced similarly, it wouldn't be worth it for what I'm doing. Hopefully this one won't be as expensive.

    Hey guys.

The upgraded firmware, according to the spec sheet, is an upgrade to help arc starting for stick.

It makes no mention of waveform adjustments.

I will install it this weekend. I have noticed on a long 6010 run that my arc every once in a while stops for no reason whatsoever. With some luck this may fix that issue.

Otherwise the 280 welds very nicely with 6010, 7018

Correct. The waveform software will be an upgrade. It has not hit the market yet, but they posted the manual for it already.
