Reviews & Ratings

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for home use One of the great things about this welder is it's light weight and is built on its own cart. You can stick your tank on the back and there's places to hold your filler rods along with the inside storage for your stinger, torch, ground clamp, and foot pedal. Having the MVP makes use so much easier, you don't have to worry about finding a 220 plug if you need do a quick weld. Just pull over an extension cord and you have up to 125 amps to tig, its ultra convenient to not have to move or unplug another piece of equipment to get the job done. The weld quality, and over all quality at that, is amazing. It's a great entry level tig for anyone that wants to get into tig but doesn't need all the wave form adjustments and high price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Syncrowave Nice machine but lacks the frequency and DC pulse that should be built into machine but it needs to be purchased separately. Great having the Dinse style connector with flow through gas make for easy torch changes. Easy to move around the shop, a nice all in one machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great light to medium duty tig and stick welder I have seen one issue of catastrophic failure as it melted down the plug and fried the building electrical, however, neither the breaker or plug was rated for the max pull. Otherwise, I have used all sizes of this and been impressed for the most part. It does deliver some of the most consistent welds in its 70% or less range. Just make sure you buy the model just above your usual output and you will not be disappointed. I have welded for over 30 years and done aluminum for over 20. I have also used several brands and found miller's machine to be the most consistent. The syncrowave and dynasty both do great work as long as you can. Weld on my friends!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be better They do weld Aluminum well. However, 2 of the 7 I purchased for a class have experience catastrophic failure of the boadrs causing an explosion. Also it is very difficult to change amperage and dig when using the DC stick setting. It won't let you just adjust it like on the XMT without goin through several steps. They also tend to unload alot and spit the metal while welding SMAW with 1/8" Esab Atom Arc Electrodes. I would prefer something that has much smoother DC welding characteristics and allows the user to adjust the machine like most other machines on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use As a hobbyist with some gas welding and stick welding experience, the transition to this TIG welder was easy. I didn't want to play around with finicky units that were less expensive. Welded everything from plate to wire. Easy to find parameters. Quality of the unit is outstanding. Worth every cent. Better than expected. EXTREMELY SATISFIED.
