Use on 120 and 240 Volt Input Power

Compact Design Allows for Great Portability
At less than 14 lbs, this little inverter-based TIG/Stick machine can be taken anywhere. It's an excellent tool for the maintenance and repair professional who needs a welder that can be easily taken with them to the job.  This eliminates the need for long lead extensions and eliminates unwanted cable clutter.
Easier to TIG Weld Thin Gauge Material
Too much heat added to thin material usually ends up in warpage of the item being welded. By using the Pulser feature included in the Maxstar 150 STH, you minimize the heat put into the work piece. This allows you to weld that thin material with less warpage. We've also taken much of the complication out of deciding what pulse frequency to select, because we've streamlined the setting choices down to four of the most used fixed pulse frequencies.
Latest Inverter Technology Provides Amazing Power Per Pound Performance
By utilizing an inverter-based power source in the Maxstar 150s, we are able to provide superior arc starts in both the TIG and Stick settings along with excellent weld puddle control all in a small, light-weight package.
No Need For A Gas Valve On Your TIG Torch
With a built-in gas solenoid, the Maxstar 150 eliminates the need for a bulky TIG torch with a gas valve.

Reviews & Ratings

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice machine but I never use it Would have been 5 stars if the box was useful. Nice machine, can plug it in anywhere. I used it once. I have owned it for 2 years and avoid using it. Always manage to find another way to get the job done so as to avoid using it. If you are wondering why its because of the black storage box. The black plastic storage box is awful. Whoever designed the box designed it to put factory wrapped cords and hoses in for shipping rather than for a real workman to use. It needs a box intended for shop use. It takes 20 minutes to get it back into the box, too inconvenient. I purchased portable tools for use as portables not to sit on a cart.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dependable machine as long as the motherboard holds out. I own and maintain 2 of these machines and have used them exclusively in the field since 1998. My 2 units are between 13 and 7 years old and have both undergone motherboard replacement at this point in their service life for me. I feel that the price for the machine with its good performance and approximately 6 yrs of trouble free, frequent/ daily use is worth the investment in buying and maintaining it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from handy little machine This compact DC TIG machine is very handy and truly portable. We use it in the field when repairing or retro-fitting precision sheet metal parts and small machine frame details. The ability to use either 120v or 240v as our power source is what makes this machine really versatile and allows us to take it anywhere. Our customers comment on it too, it impresses them that we can make quick on site repairs without disrupting their assembly floor production. Typical Miller high quality and professional appearance too. It's a little pricey but the set up is complete and stores nicely in its plastic case. This is of course only a DC machine so keep that in mind if you need AC technique.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great overal TIG machine with a cheap torch. Overall I like this machine. It is high quality and welds very well. I have pushed the machine to the max many times and never had an issue. The case, the HF start, and pulse feature are all great. The only reason I gave this machine a 4 instead of 5 is the cheesy torch that comes with it. The fact that you have to Velcro the fingertip control on the torch leave a little to be desired. For a machine in this price range you are getting a lot of bonus features in a nice, portable package. Just plan on buying a different torch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great compact machine I bought this unit to replace an older one. New one has nice improvements. They are great units because they are very portable or if used in a shop, they take up little space. The only downside is they are still hard to start when running 115v. The new one is better with the added technology but I still recommend running on 230v. Plugged into 230v these machines will surprise you and will perform as well as any of the larger units. I own two of these packages. One to travel and one set up in my shop.
