Use It On 120 Or 240 Volt Input Power
Miller's Multi Voltage Plug (MVP™) allows you to connect to common 120 or 240 V power receptacles without the use of any tools. Simply chose the plug that fits the receptacle and connect it to the power cord.
Utilizes Latest Inverter Technology
By utilizing an inverter-based AC/DC power source, a more efficient (less energy is used) and consistent welding arc is provided compared to older transformer based TIG machines.
Torch Designed for Maximum Operator Comfort
The package comes standard with a Diversion Series foot control and the Weldcraft A-150 TIG torch. This 150 amp, air-cooled torch features a compact and durable design ideal for both the professional and hobbyist welder. The Diamond Grip head design has ergonomic contact points for thumb and fingers, provides a more comfortable grip and reduces operator fatigue.
Light Weight = Portability
Whether it's in the shop, garage or at the race track, at only 50 lbs it can be taken anywhere. You can't do that with those heavy transformer machines!
Reduce Noise, Maintenance and Operating Costs.
Our Fan-On-Demand™ cooling system only operates when needed. This cuts down on fan noise, along with reducing power consumption and contaminants drawn into the machine.
Eliminate Waste of Expensive Shielding Gas
Our Auto-Postflow feature optimizes postflow time based on welding amperage. This allows for proper shielding of both the weld end zone and electrode every time without waste of gas or need for adjustment.
Dependable Arc Starts
Provides HF, non-contact arc starting to eliminate tungsten and material contamination time after time.

Not Included

  • Argon shielding gas
  • Filler rod
  • Personal safety products (helmet, gloves)
  • Your local welding distributor can provide shielding gas, filler rod and a full product offering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great welder at a great price Being able to own a welder that will weld steel, and aluminum, run off 110 or 220, and have a pedal control included is a super value. I was a little sceptical about not having more controlls to fiddle with, but Miller got the settings right. I have been able to turn out some of the best aluminum welds of my life with this modest machine. Sure, I have dreams of owning a Dynasty some day, but for a hobby welder like myself, the Diversion does it all and then some. I love my Diversion 180. Go Blue!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use ! While this welder lacks the adjustments available on the Dynasty 200dx I rarely find myself needing them(they would be nice to have but it would impact cost!). I like that I can just set the material and thickness and begin welding. The foot pedal is sort of small with limited travel but having never used a foot pedal before I still think it is better than not having one. The machine itself produces a super nice arc and I like that the fan runs on demand. I have heard others complain that the torch cable is too stiff but I never had a problem with it. The MVP makes it darn portable! You can pretty much weld anywhere! If one change could be made it would be adjustable post flow. Aside from that, I think this is a good value for a quality welder! This probably isn't a welder a professional fabricator would be using in their shop but I think it makes for a good machine for a serious hobbyist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little welder So far it has been great to use. Very user friendly, I don't think Miller could have made it any easier to use. Only thing I don't like is the hose covering for the torch is real stiff, your hand gets tired. Also when I am in between welds on a project I will accidentally push the button on the torch, and of course touch the torch to ground and get flashed. Welder has enough capacity to surface weld 1/4" cast aluminum pipe together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great welder for general shop use. Very easy to set up and use. We do aluminum repair and some stainless in our shop. Very user friendly, produced some very nice looking welds. We don't use it everyday so the ease of set up is important as we change types of material often. When we do use it we seem to be in light production mode and use it not stop for a couple days. Always up to task. Very happy with our purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Tig welder This is my first tig welder and I love it. It is super easy to work with and the settings are really simple. It comes woth the pedal, the gun and the gas regulator. All you need to buy is the gas and the mask and gloves and a jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Miller 180 Miller might consider adding a 90 degree elbow in back for the argon line. Then too, the 230 V plug is an oddball, I'm still looking for a suitable female outlet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an awesome little machine! I was a little skeptical at first with the lack of adjustability, but this machine has handled every task I've thrown at it. Definitely the best machine in its price range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply fantastic I studied long and hard before settling on the 180, and now I wish I'd have just bought it and started enjoying it sooner instead of spending hours trying to decide whether or not it was worth the extra cost above the cheaper scratch start TIG setups. If you're reading this then you're probably making the same mistake I was. JUST BUY IT!! It's a fantastic versatile welder backed by the best customer service and community in the business, and you're missing out on laying beads by reading the swill on the Internet. So get out to your local welding shop and bring it home today!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good entry level light duty machine The foot pedal broke just after the warranty expired. Local Miller welding stores would not service the pedal, because I purchased it online. I ended up repairing the pedal myself. Beware of the cheap pedal control that comes with this welder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to operate and understand. I am new to tig welding, so when I learned about the features on the diversion 180 I decided to finally make the purchase. Learning how to use the machine was as simple as it gets. The machine does almost all of the thinking for you, definetly a huge plus for a new person. The quality of weld that can be achieved is unbelievable for the amount of effort exerted. A very worthwhile purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the home user! I purchased the Diversion 180 because it was the cheapest, simplest TIG welder that is backed by a big name. I've put heat through both steel and aluminum without issues, up to 1/4 plate steel and 1/8 sheet aluminum. The lack of adjustment is hardly a hinderance, for someone without formal training it's much easier to set the amperage and metal type, then put the pedal down. As long as I haven't skipped the metal prep each weld meets my needs both structurally and cosmetically. I've recommend this machine to all of my friends who might have the need and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else looking for an inexpensive TIG machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding piece of equipment! This welder is outstanding and one of the best light to medium duty weld ears I have used in the 40 years I have been welding. I make race car and aircraft components and the Diversion 180 is perfect for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple TIG I had used this product before my purchase and several other high end TIG welders. For the price and my usage this can not be beat. I looked into the smaller attachments to other welders to add TIG capabilities, but found duty cycles and range of use very limited. This machine takes most of the work to figure out settings out of the picture. Just need to know what you are welding and how thick it is. Honestly my experience has allowed me to see the fancy, feature full TIG welders are design with very specific purposes in mind. If you just need a good general welder this is it.
