APPLETON, Wis. (July 11, 2016)  — The new Multimatic™ 215 from Miller Electric Mfg. Co. delivers all-in-one multiprocess capabilities for MIG, flux-cored, DC TIG and DC stick welding and welds up to 3/8-inch thick mild steel in a single pass.

“Miller understands what our customers need to complete their projects … and explore new ones,” said Emily Mueller, product manager for Miller Electric Mfg. Co. “The Multimatic 215 provides up to 230 amps of power for MIG projects. Just add an electrode holder or a torch and it’s ready for stick or TIG welding, too.”

Weighing just 38 pounds, the Multimatic 215 has a small footprint, making it a welcome addition to any home garage or shop. The versatile machine can be easily set up for multiple materials and weld processes using the color LCD interface, featuring Auto-Set™ Elite. Weld settings can be fine-tuned further while in Auto-Set mode.

“We love the versatility of the Multimatic 215,” said Andy Maylish, chassis fabricator for Hendrick Motorsports. “We go from TIG welding control arms to MIG welding chassis in no time. It’s easy to set up, has a beautiful weld and the TIG Lift Arc is awesome.”

The inverter-based machine provides an extremely stable arc with minimal spatter for less cleanup. Smooth-Start™ technology ensures consistently smooth MIG arc starts.

The Miller exclusive Multi-Voltage Plug (MVP™) allows users to weld in more places by simply choosing the plug that fits a 120 V or 240 V power receptacle and connecting it to the power cord. No tools are required.

Ease-of-use is enhanced further through other innovative features. An angled wire drive uses an updated motor in an all-aluminum housing to support longer torch options and deliver smoother wire feeding for better welds. The Quick Select™ drive roll makes setup quick and easy by offering three grooves — two for different sized solid wire and a third for flux-cored wire. In addition, Auto Spool Gun DetectTM automatically detects when a Miller® Spoolmate™ 100 or Spoolmate 150 is connected, eliminating the need to install a spool gun switch.

The system’s Fan-On-DemandTM cooling system operates only when needed, reducing noise, energy use and the amount of contaminants pulled through the machine.

This Multimatic 215 is intended for light fabrication, maintenance and repair, auto body and farm and home applications.
