Do you use a watercooler with the 200 dx?

can the 200dx break through anodized aluminum? if so how easy?

ironhorse, if you are going to be using the 200 DX heavy, a water cooled gun might be a good investment, if nothing else to keep your hand cool, you don't need a cooler, just a water inlet, 'garden hose' and an outlet, 'garden hose' to an outside or inside drain, if nothing else, back to a 55 or 5 gal drum to water your daiseys. Any way, you will probably need the 100 amp breaker for the Synchro 250, I have both the 250 and the 200 DX and I feel the DX when set up right is just about as powerful as the 250. It is also a lot easier to drag the 200DX around on location, albight the 250 looks impressive in your shop for customer appeal, the 200DX will getterdone. I have a red 275 tig that I normally use on a 50a circuit. So far, the 50a circuit has done all of my steel stick and tig. The only time I have tripped it was when I tried to tig some big aluminum. What I did for that situation was rig up an extension cord of building wire that comes directly off a 100a breaker in the service entrance panel. The wire never goes into the house structure and just comes around the corner of the house so I can reach it with a normal ext cord. Believe I've only used it twice in four years. Definitely not code but then its only a temporary installation. Guess I could install a proper outlet box on the side of the panel and then plug my cords into that.

I have the cord to the Synchro 250 wired directly to the 100 amp breaker in the box. I tried using 2 40's but they kept tripping, the specs call for a 100 amp breaker for the 250. It is a power hog by all means....and weighs in at over 500lbs with the Coolrunner.
