was woundering if any body knows a web site where i can find the load capacity of steel. mostly i beams of various size.

I use the "Machinery's Handbook". This will have more info than you can absorb!

The Machinery's Handbook will tell you, if you have the paitence to find what your looking for. You could also try your local steel provider, they usually have the specs in thier product books.
I find the load ratings and such data through my local supplier more often than not.Jonny
