It should be gas. I do not think it is a good deal. You should be able to find an older engine drive for about $1000 or a little more. You say you are going to have about $1000 in material alone for the trailer. How many hours do you think it will take you? Hours x rate = ? + material will give you the cost of that welder. Around here you can get a nice small car trailer for $1400 new.

well the guy i'm trading is an authorized miller and esab repair man and is going to customize and rebuild sort of thing the welder. Its going to have AC tig with HF, dc tig and the sorts. but i'm wondering how reliabe is this welder ??.. anyone know?
..he says it's good but i'm not shure.. it's pretty old for the price. I want to use it for mobile trailer repair and fab, and use it outside the shop sometimes... any one know how far you can run a stinger from thr machine? is the work clamp lenght the same
,, i want at least 50'.. i want to mount it on a trailer.
Also do i need to increase the pressure of aceteline and oxy for a longer hose? i had a 10' hose but i just recently aquired a 50; and joind em together so i have a 60' .Jorgensen MFG.

Nice welder and it will outlast any gas bobcat built. It runs at 1800 rpm and 3000 for welding.

There is a lot of liability in building anything used on a public road. If it hurts somone you could loose everything. Something to consider.
