Portable or Standup?
I have a Milwaukee portable (standard throat) model that works good for me and I can take it with me on the trail. I even have the plans to chuck it up in a vise and put a small plate/table on it to use it as a free standing model.BullDog Dave

If you are just looking for a portable band saw those new Dewalt saws are great. The bearings look stronger and it even has a light to shine on your work so you can actually see the cut line in low light areas
