Piercings and welding

Winger ed I know life isnt fair I was just applying it. I know what I have to do and I will do it. I understand why they must come out and I will do it. I might not like the idea of why they must come out but yup Life goes on and im not the only one that has ever had to do it.

Dude I know its messed up. Most people are going to think that way at first. Here is what you need to do PROVE YOURSELF! If you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything. Just always be polite and never give up always do your best you will get there!

I work with a fella that I call 'Scrap Iron'.
He has piercings and tattoos, pretty much 'everywhere'--
at least from what he tells me anyway.

But at work, with long trousers and a long sleeve shirt, ya can't see them.
If you look close,, you can see the thing he has up inside his nose. But so far, nobody has complained about it.

And, from what I gather, there are quite a few people like that around.
Especially in Japan. Their culture is so restrictive, and they want to break out of the mold just like we do.. They have folks over there that are tattooed on every square inch of their body that doesn't show outside of a business suit.


Anyway:

Good luck with finding a job you like, and pays well.

And look on the bright side:
You may interview somewhere, and it comes down to you and this guy,,,,,,,,,,

Winger, those are cool spikes .. wonder if he gets eye strain from focusing on them..
YoungWelder ... bottom line ... you have to be strange to screw up your body like that ... What will the customer say when he see's you... maybe "What kind of company am I dealing with" or "will this guy use good judgement on the job when he didn't on his body" ... just take them out and go with the "flow" ...

Jim thats the plan. That picture of that that guy is pretty insane I havent gone that far with my piercings I have my lip pierced but man thats a hige ring I have more sense then that

Could be the safety thing. Our shop requires the removal of ALL jewelry incuding watches. Ever see a guy missing his ring finger? Ask him how it happened. Jewelry has a nasty habit of getting hooked on just about anything. Want your lip split, ear lobe torn, or finger yanked off? Keep werein em. Oh and don't forget the jewelry also conducts electricity. Never heard of a tattoo getting hooked on anything or conducting electricity yet.

If you had your own shop you may be more inclinded to hire someone that shares your view on body piercings just as someone who is not wearing will not want to hire you. I don't care what you do to your body as long as it doesn't affect my life. People that do this to themselves seem that it is more important to make a visual statement than to state how good a worker they can be. If you were falsley accused of a crime and needed a good lawyer, would you hire a person that looks like you or the general public. Go to a welding shop that has people that express the same as you. But don't get mad when others view you as a little wierd and don't want to send you out to their customers. It is their business they have to protect, not your freedom of poking holes in your body. I can't understand why you do what you do but I'll fight along side of you for the right to do it. Just my opinion. When I was young, it was longer hair and a pack of smokes wrapped up in the sleeve of your white T shirt that got to the elders. But remember, you are asking them for a job.

Okay I was told on saturday If I dont remove my piercings and my 1/2 inch ear plugs that can stop me from becoming a welder. I want to make good money. Anyone here who hires or can answer if they were hiring would you guys not hire me buecause I have a lip piercings eyebrow piercing septum piercing (middle of nose) my ears streched to about 1/4 of an inch and a couple more in cartalige in my ears? Or is my sister jsut Bull S****ing me? I dont want to part with my piercings but will I ahve to, too become a welder? Mind you the places I am at right now have nothing against my piercings, but could that be jsut because I am a apprentice?

If you want to become a welder you will end up with enough holes burned into your body or poked in your body. Why anyone would want to do this on purpose is beyond me. I would not hire you and if someone who had this done ever came calling on my daughters I would hold them down and add a few new holes. A hot wire coming out of MM251 would make some nice holes. Kinda gives new meaning to your term FEAR THIS!!
