    Default Welding trim holes

I removed the trim on my old truck and don't want it back. The problem is that I now have forty 1/4 inch holes to fill. I realize that welding is the way to go and picked out a cheap 110v mig welder. I'm a little nervous about closing up some holes around the gas filler cap!

    Any advice is much appreciated.

If you're doing that much work I'd just remove the tank, whether it's under the bed or in the cab (you didn't say). Older trucks had vented caps, and oftentimes the old hoses have developed their own vents (cracks), and it's really not that much work involved removing the tank. Takes longer to dig a 6' deep hole . . .
