Anyone know the correct procedure to stress relieve the welds in a small
weldment (tool holder constructed by welding 3 mild steel plates together).

What kind of metal is it?
Steel or aluminum?
Anealing the piece would remove stress' caused by welding.

relief of stress
Just heat the part to dull red and let it cool slowly.
In an oven at 600F for several hours again cool slowly.TJ______________________________________
