has anyone built their own hydraulic press? I'm looking to build one in the 12 to 20 ton range. thanks

I built one with a 20 ton jack in it. Made sides out of 6" channel. I'll try to take a picture this weekend if you'd like to see it. Works great. You could probably get some ideas from looking at it

How To Plans has a nice set for only $6.95. I have several of their plans and they are well written and documented. Well worth the money.

I think HF has a 20 ton press for about $200.00. The 12 Ton HF is on sale for $79.00 online at this moment. I would say download the product manual and try working from there. You may figure out how to build a better one.
