A quick blurb here on yesterdays material costs.
I had to run to the yard for material yesterday, my normal supplier blew me away with their prices and I decided to run instead of using the delivery I would rather have.
2 sheets ~4' by 10'~1/8" of 3003 alum floor plate------ $366.00 (ouch)
2 sheets~4 by 8'~ 1/8" of steel floor -----$223.12
40' of 1 1/2" by 1 1/2" -3/16" angle -steel--- $37.20
I could go on, but these were the ones that are killing my bottom line at the moment. Whos doing better with their costs ? BTW these prices were atleast 25 % better the any one else in the area.

I feel your pain
While I do a fair amount of welding in such, it is mainly for repair of other in-house equipment. We are primarily a traditional wood-based construction company. We have seen multiple 10-15% increases from just about every supplier over the past year or so. When I say multiple, I mean a 10-15 a couple times a year. Any product that is petroleum based has been absurd. PVC pipe being one of the big hitters. Don't even get me started on the cost of copper wiring!!!! Anyway, just thought I'd give you a little comfort (?) that it isn't just metal. It's just good-ol inflation. Gotta love it! SSS

Last week
Last Thursday a 4'x8'x1/8" aluminum sheet cost me $92, 5'x10'x16ga anodized aluminum diamond plate was $87. Prices have gone up quite a bit but I don't think quite as much as where you are.

Well just to give you an idea of what I pay here in Canada, 20ft of 4inch channel was $108
13 ft of 2inch sch40 pipe - $77 @ $6ft
16ft 1 inch sch40 - $52 @ $3.30ft
I don't buy much sheet or alum. so I can't compare to that

WOW- I am disappointed that my aluminum is higher so much more then others, but man that sch-40 pipe cost makes me a little more appreciative. I just priced some for a job and 1 1/4" sch-40 was $1.24 per ft.. Was your price canadian or us ?
