I would be more worried about lack of hours.

Beware that you as second owner probably will not get benefit of warranty, and if they fry it typically will be withing 3 years or extreme old age. One that had fried already and fixed under warranty should be bullet proof in my opinion and experience.

    That's how my 700 is....fried, then beefed
Upgraded with new boards and now bulletproof!
It has made me tens of thousands ever since.

Here are pages from Dynasty 350 manual showing how to access the menu to see the statistics.

I agree with shovelon and FusionKing that my 350 seems to be bulletproof as it has worked perfectly since the repair.

    My Dynasty 350 information:
    Serial Number: LH 480 241 L - (pre-blue lightning)
    Software number: 224545 D

    Got “HELP 31” message 3 April 2008.

    It's in shop and powered...
It's a big step from 200dx, even high freq, start is smoother.
There's another year and half warranty left, let's keep fingers crossed...

    Hi,
I recently bought a Dynasty 700 and am getting to know it.
My machine has 390 hours on it.
Tell me at what number of hours did your 700 fail, and what was the problem?
What was the cost of repair?
Are you using yours for Aluminum?

    Thanks

my dyn 350 also has about 350-400 or so hours on it so i dont have first hand experience on the longevity of these machines, however i was about to buy a dyn 700 with 5500 hours on it, and everything worked just fine. I have also spoken with a few other guys with dyn 350 and 700s, and they both went into the 6000 hour range.

I really don't remember anymore.....it could be back a few thousand posts tho!!
It was low compared to now
They upgraded the boards and they said it was a couple thousand or so.
Yep we do a fair bit of aluminum
I love that machine.....best shop tig ever. Duty cycle is NEVER an issue
