Default Pro300 AC power when welding

I have a Pro300. My helper used another persons Walter variable speed diegrinder with my machines AC receptacle, she found that when I was welding the AC power was unavailable. My Dewalt grinders will work if I am welding at the same time. Is this normal?

I wonder if the variable speed grinder was DC which might have had something to do with it, That's the first thought that popped into my mind.
