    Default .045 to .035 chart

Is there a chart to convert .045 to .035 ipm.

I was welding up a receiver hitch for my pu. It has the 2 1/2'' receiver.
I took out my iphone and went to the new Miller app, it said 29volts 390ipm .045.
I did not have any .045, so I made the .035 work at 525 ipm, it was not quite enough, but worked.
So is there a chart I could use to get ipm right the first time?
    Good Luck,
    Bob

You do realize that those voltages are well into spray arc territory, and you will need a spray arc blend, not just CO2, or 75/25?

Sorry, I've been working on my speedster and have not had time to reply, then my internet went down for 8 days.

Big Mike, My first project was two 1X3 flat bars welded to a piece 2 1/2" SQ tube.
For a double lip hitch, farm equip.
Next was a equalizer hitch for my car trailer. Nobody makes the 2 1/2'' receivers mounts yet, all are just 2''.
Mine was 2 1/2'' solid SQ stock welded to 2X2 1/2'' solid stock.
To make a adjustable equalizer hitch.
I drilled the holes and welded the 2x2 1/2 perpendictular to the receiver with a 5'' rise and 7'' drop.
I beveled the 2 1/2 SQ and filed the V with weld and put a 2'' SQ tube cut at a 45* for a gusset.

    Walker, I sprayed with 98/02.

Kevin, I used my Miller App on my iPhone to get 1/2'' steel (is as high as it goes)
    29-30 volts, 315 amps, 98/02.

    Still looking for a chart.

    Good Luck,
    Bob

    Thumbs up

Here is an article from Welding Design that gives the raw data to calculate it..

    http://weldingdesign.com/welding-qa/...l-voltage-7806

    Hope this is helpful...

BTW... how about posting some pics of your "Speedster Project"...??

H80N, Thanks for that page. That's a lot of ciphering just to do a little welding.
What I got out that was a huge head ache and a heavy drinking problem.
So I think you use 1.5 a factor and will be close.
Like the App called for 390ipm of .045 times 1.5 factor equals 585ipm of .035 and would be a better choice than my guess of 525ipm.
    Thanks again,
Turns out the heavy drinking is really no problem and the head ache went away.
    Good luck,
    Bob

thank you bob, i was just curious, my 252 only goes to 25 volts, or thats what i thought, made a mistake, it goes to 29.5. i recently purchased the 252, which is a great machine, i am not used to the setting numbers yet, my mm200 had 1 thru 6, low and hi for volts, just a matter of getting used to it. thanks again
