I was welding heavy alum when my touch lead stated to leak. I got a different
welder for the shop and brought the old one home, where I repaired the leak,
by gluing another peace of hose over the old one. it holds fine. Then I hooked it up
and tried it, I am on dc straight and set to start, it wont start a arc unless I touch
the tungsten to the metal and pull it away it give a very small arc and then nothing
on continuous it will hold an arc but it looks funny and will only melt holes in my sheet metal . I have reset the points to .010, and I hear and feel gas coming out
of the touch. Any ideas what the problem could be. thanks joe
