    Default New toy - 211

Bought a new Millermatic 211 to go with the Syncrowave 200 that I already had. Had to show it off. Everybody has spoken very highly of the 211.

Floor space is tight in my shop, hence the double stack with space in between.

The Millermatic replaced a Lincoln 175HD, which was limited to 1/8 inch material with solid wire. So I have definitely moved up in power; the 211 is rated for 5/16". No, I would not use it to weld 5/16" thick steel, I have stick on the Syncrowave for that, but I would probably weld 1/4 with it.

Default You might want to check those specs.

My 211 is rated for 3/16" mild steel when operating on 120 volts and 3/8" when running on 240V. I suspect yours may be the same. Load it up with .035 wire, clean everything up bright and shiny, and pull the trigger, 5/16" shouldn't give you any trouble.

I've run my 211 way beyond it's duty cycle. I've also welded some 3/4" plate with it. Although, I did pre-heat the heck out of it and it wasn't structural. It's been a great machine.
