    Default hi new here trying to setup a bobcat 250 so i can weld aluminum

    hi new here trying to setup a bobcat 250 so i can weld aluminum i am a code welder i now a bobcat is not the best from welding aluminum its not a HF welder but I'm shore there is manny options what I'm going to be doing is alum- sheet metal the very thickest would be 1/4 I'm going to build aluminum john boats gas tanks things like that after i build and sale some i will be buying a new welder one that is a HF

    You can buy a A/C HF adaptor unit and use your bobcat.No bigs.

    Well, why tig, run a spoolgun off your CV setting on your machine, so a WC-115 with contactor, Miller 30A, a bottle of Argon and off you go. Crazy simple and about 100 times faster than tig.

    seams like someone told me about that before but this is not remote hookup right the only way to adjust the heat is to stop and adjust it at the welder right?

    Default with a mig what's my option

    with a mig what's my option I've used a miller 30 spool gun and can't really complain it dose the job but there kinda pricey is it the best bang for the buck

    Default how about the WC-2

    i found a used WC-2 controller for about 200$ will it work with a bobcat 250

    It could but you'd need a Spoolmatic 2 spool gun to go with it and you still wouldn't have a contactor.

    The WC-2 was designed for use with power sources equipped with a contactor and as you know the Bobcat doesn't.


    I'd suggest going with cruizer's recommendation.

    Default what about spool gun + controller

    what about spool gun + controller is the miller spoolmatic 30 or 15 with a WC115a controller my only good option its a $2000 one at that…is there any other controller that will work
