    Default Steel Spheres

Anyone seen one of these? I got the idea from this website: http://blog.custommade.com/house/mel...que-fire-pits/

They are making some killer fire pits. But I have never seen a premade sphere. Any ideas?

Firing it up would be too depressing.

    elvis,

Here are some companies who manufacture pressure vessel ends.

Of course they are probably more $ than the channel marker buoys Bob found.

The type you want are the hemispherical ones.
    Non-ASME ones are cheaper.

There is probably a manufacturer near you.
Get 2 and make your own sphere.

King Metals sells steel hemispheres up to 12" in diameter.
They also have a 12" stainless sphere for around $300.

A restaurant near me has an outdoor seating area with 4 commercially made wood burning fire pits.
I looked closer and they were simply 48" steel hemispheres with a drain hole in the bottom.

More fun to make your own which is why we're all here.

    good luck,

Thanks! The more options the better. I live in the desert so no buoy stores right here... I'll look into some tank ends. I have looked at those for other projects but they can be expensive.
