Default Miller Bobcat 225 Welder Problems

    Hey all,
I need to replace the engine in my Miller Bobcat 225 welder in one of my service trucks. It has the ch23 Kohler command v-twin engine in it and I have a new one awaiting the solution to my problem.

The problem I am having is that I can't (or more like don't know how to) remove the armature shaft from the engine. What is the "trick" to removing them? I can't find anything on the internet on them or how to remove them. I have heard they are threaded on the crank? I just don't want to mess up my armature.

If I missed the thread or a website that regards this, please post the link for me.
