    Default Slide Hammer Dowel Puller

At work we needed to pull out a blind press fit dowel.
I drilled and tapped a block of steel to match the M16 x 1.5 thread that came on the puller and welded it to a Vise-Grip pliers.
    It worked great.

    Default An alternative way:

    Nice work.
But for a one-time job, I made a vise grip slide hammer puller without welding.
I just made a hook attachment to the slide hammer to grab the inside of the vg jaws.
Used it to pull a deep bearing shaft out of my Norton gearbox.

Gotta love Vise-Grips. One of the best tolls invented. (only the good ones, not cheap junky ones)

The slide hammer I have came with an adapter that has the same external thread and spherical end as the adjustment bolt in a vise-grip pliers on one end and an internal thread that the hammer bar threads into on the other. I didn't know what the darn thing was for at first but since I figured in out I have put it to good use.
