Default Bob Cat will not power Dynast 300

I called called to do a stainless tig job at a plant and all they had to power up my welder was a 11,000 watt Bobcat generator which probably means 9,500 or maybe 10,000 watts of power.
It would turn the machine on but as soon as I tried to weld tig stainless at 125 amps it shut right down.

They then decided to let me pull my truck inside where I was able to run the Dynasty 300 DX off my Pipe Pro which puts out 12,000 watts of power.

Earlier in the day I was welding up aluminum hand rail with my set up and it allowed me to run at 175 amps on AC.

RPM was very likely too low, again engine MUST be set via a meter at 62.5 hz high idle no load, and fine control set to max

Cruizer thanks for that info about having the fine control set to max on the Bobcat.

As far as my Pipe pro is it necessary to have my volt- amp knob turned all the way up.

How about the Trail blazers that just have the one knob.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Only with the Bobcat you need to turn the fine control up for voltage, the others are independent.

    Good info.

My Bobcat 250 11,000 accurated would lug slightly (drop rpm) when 211 would start welding. Then again it may be the way it is. All gen sets seem to do it.

    Except,,,,

My cuz 225 Bobcat never changed in rpm with the 211 running off it and its 10years or more older.

Next outing I'll make sure that dial is cranked up. I read this in the manual, all the way up for max generator power but may have forgot that day. Well come to think of it, I believe its written on the machine also.

    Good reminder, thanks.
