    Default HF-251 D-1 questions

Hey yall I'm a newbie to this forum and just had some questions about a hf-251 d-1 that I just got. I have been on and off welding since 2008 when I got out of school so I know how to weld and all that. Its just that I have never use this machine or anything like it. So my questions are: can I use it by it self? I have the mig spool gun for it and the tig stuff for it too. The only thing I need is the argon cylinder. I am most likely to use the mig more than tig so if I could just use it for that is it possible without a generator welder?? Any input would be helpful.. thanks

The HF-251D-1 is not a welding power source but rather just a high frequency arc starter for TIG welding that would be connected to a CC (Constant Current) or simply stick welding power source.

No way you're going to use a MIG spool gun with it nor would you want to.

The HF-251D-1 is just an accessory to be used with a vast array of CC power sources.
