Default Deck Repair of Lawn Tractor

This week's project was to fix the mower deck for lawn tractor for my friend's church. The problem was the welds that attached the brackets to the mower deck were broken and you could wiggle the brackets relative to the mower deck. After we cleaned it up you could see that the mower deck had lots of spider web cracks, which resulted in the brackets being attached to very little structural metal. The root cause was likely to be the deck getting hung up on stationary objects.

We repaired the tractor on Saturday, the normal mowing day. I machined a shoulder nut to replace the missing shoulder bolt so that we could get it back in service for Sunday. It would be a pain to mow the large church lawn with the push mowers.
