so i been wanting a nice tall steel welding table for a while. with the "bonus" we got form work i decided to do it. a buddy of mine buys lots of steel from a place so i had him get me the goods
im using 2x2 .188 wall square tube for the frame, 1/4 plate for the top and 4 6 inch casters to make moving it around easier. cut 4 at 96 in 6 at 44 in and 6 at 37 in
used a ratchet strap to hold the frames together while i check for square and welded them
the top and bottom frame complete welded
and the legs tacked in place
should be finishing it tomorrow

sorry for the long delay. i got the 2 frames on their side, pulled together and discovered there was no gas in my bottle
and i also discovered that all my friend use flux core lol.

so sens how no weld supply shop is open on sunday i had to wait till monday to get gas and till sat when i had time to finish it. im really glad all the wheels roll on the floor at the same time. i was worried it was going to be some kind of parallelogram

scene all my friends were busy this sunday i had to get the 4x8 1/4 plate up off the floor and onto the table. had to use a chain hoist, some extra chain and some ingenuity to do it.

i think im just going to tack the plate to the frame in 8 places to hold it on. that way if i ever need to remove it shouldnt be to hard. what ya think? my first real welding project.
had some problems with the verticle welds. some look good and some look like runny bugers. keep in mind i did this with a millermatic 200 built in 79!
thanks for looking

Looks nice. Good idea to tack the top on as it will warp if you use lots of weld.
Using the welder as an excuse doesn't cut it as the Millermatic 200 is one of the best welders Miller ever made.MM250
