Does anyone know why 4043 filler rod turns black when anodised?
What causes it and is there a way to get around it without changing rod?

The silicon in the 4043 turns the weld black. I know of no way to stop it. That is why 5356 is recommended. It has no silicon.

Use 5356......it can still have the slightest discoloration but 4043 turns black....
