    Default SA-200 Finally Finished

Its been a while and it took a long time. Here is my restored 1968 Red Face SA-200.

    SA-200 finished 002 (640x427).jpg

It's a bit over restored with Stainless Steel Button Head bolts used where ever possible.
A new intake manifold was needed along with a new exhaust pipe.
I chose a real nice piece of galvanized water pipe with very little rust on the inside.
I cut it 1/2'' longer for better torque at high amps.
One dent was missed and the arc strike on the panel was left as is, remnants of the cable rack that was welded to the tongue.
The trailer is a factory bolt on, the springs bolt to the main frame, and the tongue bolts to the front in a clamping fashion.
    What new you ask?
Stumpf's WS provided a new red face dash panel plate w/orignal code and serial numbers. Plus all the other parts.
After I kitted the carb it pull 350 amps with out cough or hic-up.
There must have been a teaspoon full of dirt in that carb.
All three new hoses and fan belt. The radiator was over hauled with a can of Krylon.
Starter button and ignition switch along with the spark plugs and sediment bowl were all replaced.
The old hood was rusted out along the folded seam where dirt gets trapped. Add some moisture and you get a rusted out hood.
The newer welder have a different style fold in that area. No spot for dirt to
    collect.

It was not hard to clean with air powered wire brush.

I just send the frame of the '59 to the sand blaster as it was way worse shape than the '68.

The '84 will just need a coat of paint.

The '80 is missing carb, magneto, alternator, air cleaner, gas cap, water pump and other things.

    Good Luck,
    Bob

Looks good. I got one I am going to peddle but think I got to shoot some paint on to move it. Not a resto, just do the skin to make it look serviceable.

Since you have four of them I'd be willing to haul it around in my truck and start it every now and again to keep the dust blown out of the exhaust. No charge!:-) beautiful job!

    Default Hub caps

I have these hub caps that need to be powder coated.
I'm thinking chrome powder coat and red for the lettering with orange sparks.
    I'm open to any thoughts/ideas.

    Thank for the kind words.

    Default Ideas Please

Somebody has got to have an idea on how to paint my hub caps.
A perfect restoration of the hub caps is not the main plan.
Something outside the box is what I have in mind.
    Thank you,
    Good Luck,
    Bob
