Just bought a diversion 165. I was surprised to see it is no longer labeled as Made in the USA. When did this change? I was a bit bummed. That was one of the selling points for me buying it...I thought it was made in the USA. Anyone else notice this?

Over the years, there has been a lot of confusion over the made in USA labeling. It seemed like a high percentage of people interpreted this as meaning the unit contained 100% USA built components. When they removed the wrapper off the unit and discovered components from other countries they were upset. So I suspect partly to end this confusion but more so to prevent possible legal issue Miller decided to drop the Made in USA label. Hobart has eliminated the Made in USA label too.
The unit is still built in the USA, just realize certain components used in the design of the unit don't have a made in the USA version.

The box said assembled in the USA. I was just surprised because every picture I had ever seen showed the old made in the USA label on the lower control panel. I'm happy with it, it's a great welder. I was just surprised. I think to be labeled as made in the USA a certain percent of the main components have to be made here. It's miller blue and has a great warranty so I'm fine with it.

I went through the same thing. Mine did not even say "Assembled in USA".

Our machines are designed and manufactured in Appleton, Wis. at Miller headquarters. Our manufacturing processes have not changed, but FTC guidelines have. We need to remove the stickers in order to adhere to those guidelines. We do our best to source our components domestically, but some models do contain small components that were manufactured abroad. We are proud to house the manufacturing operations for our power sources in the United States.
