Here is my question guys, I have the diversion 180 im pretty sure I can brais with it just have not tried til now. My old neighbor friend brings me some solid brass wire (no flux) I fire up my diversion on DC and give it a wirl on some scrap and the minute I begin to add the rod it dont like it one bit! kinda flares up and goobers up my tungsten. I tell him it has to be the rod he says no, so where is the problem? Is there a special braising rod i need to use for this? The rod he gives me to try has no brand or info. wich sends up a red flag with me, however the little bit I did do showed some type of brass in it so at this point imto say the least. So any help on this matter would be great thanks in advance, Eric

The zinc in the brass is reacting to the arc. Try silicon bronze, as it is recommended in lieu of brass.
