Maybe turn your wire speed down a tad. Watch how you hold the gun make sure the nozzle is 90 degrees to your work or you will blow spatter to the back side. I weld with .045 gas flux core everyday....Bob

Why do you use .045, is it thin material? I use 1/16 most of the time. I find little use with 045 if the material is 1/2 or thicker.

U ain't suppose to use gas with flux coref wire. It aint dual shield.

Its called dial shield because of the gas acting as the second shielding agent... Hence the name dual shield. Most flux core is gas shielded actually.

tweak ur settings a little bit. ie. up the voltage a bit or knock the wire down a little to keep the spatter down. 9 times out of ten you will find a roll of dual shield on the wire feeder rather than gas-less flux.

My tanks i weld are 3/16" and up. I use a MM252 but the other guys are running Miller 300's and they use 1/16" wire...Bob
