Landscape truck racks

[MMW]

Just finishing up building lift off racks for a flatbed dump body for a landscape company. Four feet high, half solid, half mesh with swing out barn doors in the back. Each side has two racks with the gates attached to the rear side rack. Pockets in top of racks are to lift off with a fork truck.

good job, nice and straight, that type of a job can go hay wire for the inexperienced. i see that you planned for distortion and took care of it, properly, if a novis looks at that type of project, they assume that it is a breeze to build, it is, if keeping it straight and plum is not an issue. when i do projects like that, i use long lengths of channel iron and lots of clamps to assure its curb appeal.

Nice, you have been busy. It look like the ''lift off racks'' may need a turbo to help at lift off. They look pretty stout. Can one guy lift them off ?

Actually I'm almost always busy but just figured out how to post pics. One guy can not lift them off that's why the fork truck pockets at the top of each section. They asked for them & it is a good idea. They will almost always stay on so they didn't need to be one guy removable. I tried to make them as light as possible but still strong. The pocket on each gate lines up with the side pocket when swung all the way around. Being that it's a dump body I'm sure it will get overloaded.

I saw the top pockets but didn't think of a fork truck. DUH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definitely on the overloading. It is the same when we build, overkill but safer.
