    Default Affordable Tungsten grinder

    Beginner Tig welder,

Went looking for a grinder that would quickly grind a repeatable profile for the electrode, and would not cost an arm or leg. I read most ideas and there were some good ones. Below is what I came up with for myself. I found a tool, at of all places HF that is fairly stout and looks to be up to the job. The tool is sold as a circular saw blade sharpener, 50 beens.

With some modifications and reverse engineering I think this is going to give me what I need. If you like it and want more information although it is pretty straight forward. I will be glad to pass along what I know.

    This is the grinder completed

This shows a post that positions the electrode

Here is a line scribed in the base to verify the electrode length

I bought one of these a few years back but yours looks different. I did a report here on sharpening blades as well as tungstens. Search "saw blade sharpener" if you want.
