Just quit, does it have auxillary power? Did you happen to boost the battery?

If you pull up the manual for a specific model it will display the latest model and year,
the manual for the 301g shows 2004

LE246 was the start of the 302's and generally new models come out at year end. So perhaps they did trickle on into 2004. Though they were not in the 2004 Catalogue.
The Date in the owners section means little, other than a new rendition of a manual.
