I have this 3/16" plate that has been cnc'd. my boss was going to scrap it, but i see past the scrap. now i need ideas on what to make....wall art, a tree with leafs, i dunno. i could cut each diamond seperatly, or in sets of 4 or more. please give me some ideas, i love building ornemental, artsy stuff. thank you.

i was thinking, maybe i could make some kind of sphere out of it. i would have to slightly contour each "diamond" then weld together. not sure what the diameter would be with only 30 pieces.
cmon guys, any ideas?

i picked up some thing similar to that from the sheet metal shop in my area, i used it in my wifes flower garden, i made a trelace out of it, the vines grow up thru the holes, looks good when it fills in with growth

I'm not a fan by any means, but, it looks like a Steelers Logo waiting to happen.
Maybe a 12" diameter steel or wood back plate all painted up. Add the little diamonds, maybe with different spacers for a 3-D affect. Sell the **** out of them.

The holes are too close together making it very weak, especially if you start bending it. I see scrap.

Don't know how many you have or if this is a recurring item.
.
But if you have a bunch, how about a decorative gate or coffee table.
The issue of strength may be helped if you offset the pieces and weld them together where the welds won't show.
Drawback is that this technique ruins the clean look of the pieces.
Maybe weld 3 or 4 together as a triangular or square base and put on a piece of glass as a top.
