Find an old guy like me and watch
Learn how to read blueprints and drawings to get an understanding of what the part is. Don't look at the drawing as a whole break down parts of it in your head so you don't get confused with all of the lines. It will come to you pretty quick. Where are you located? ...Bob

There is also a book or two on the subject, though I forget the names. You can also buy the pipe templates and practice at home in your off time laying out and cutting branch tees, etc. The more you do the better sense it will make.
