Hi,
I want to practice on some 1/4 steel plates with my 130XP. I would like to know what wire speed and amp number I should start off with. Also what number I should set the gas regulator to. Does the main tank valve always get opened up all the way with the only pressure adjustment being on the regulator itself? Any good advice would be deeply appreciated

The manual has the suggested settings for the machine.
Yes, open the Tank valve all the way but open slowly and then all the way.Ed Conley

Double check, but I do not think the 130 is rated for 1/4 single pass welds, multible passes or both sides maybe with bare wire. I believe they rate it for 1/4 plate with a flux cored gasless wire. In fact even with E71T-GS it says 3/16
