Is there a way to safely weld with a pacemaker,my older friend is needing a pacemaker and he is not wanting to get because he will not be able to weld anymore. thanks for any inputs...!!!!!!!

Used to be alot of EM interference, though now adays with cored weld cables like Seoprene and Excelene, actual em interferance is somewhat reduced to near zero.
So other than a non inverter continous HF on tig buzzing away, welding shouldn't be a problem.

By all means do the reading first. Google should find what you are looking for, but don't forget to have a good talk with the heart doctor, but he will likely be over protective. Find out from him which pace maker will be used and then contact the manufacturer. They will be the best source of information. You only have one heart and if the pace maker is affected it may kill you. The high frequency from doing TIG work is what you will need to be the most concerned about. Avoiding any chance of getting shocked will be a good idea too.

A no-no
A friend of mine had a pacemaker put in this year. I was waiting for her in the recovery room. The advice she received from the person who was the pacemaker specialist was definitely not to be around any welding operations.
Another individual that I personally know also had to give up his welder testing job because of having a pacemaker put in. He was at a church when he first got it put in and was having a difficult time for the next few days because he was too close to the sound system set-up.
I think that he needs to check it out very thoroughly if he is going to continue welding.
