It is my understanding that on some of the new Inverter machines you can stick weld using the TIG foot pedal to control amperage.............anyone ever do this ???

yes works very well, have dynasty 200. played around with it and you can run at normal amps for the electrode in use then slowly let off the pedal and just watch the rod slowly drip off from the end. not sure if its useful for anything.

My thought was to use the pedal as a hot start..........using more amps to start then backing off to your main welding current !!!
