    Default DC Arc Welding, where to start...

    Hi, I purchased a Hobart 235/160 AC/DC welder (made by Miller I believe). I have been doing some AC welding but want to try DC. Is the Amperage Range listed on the Electrode chart for AC and DC or just AC?

    Using AC I'm currenlty using a 7014 3/32" rod at about 100 Amps and a 7014 1/8" rod at about 130 Amps. If you can provide some advice at what Amps I should be at using DC for these same rods I would appreciate it.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Just play around with it. If your gettin undercut turn it down a bit if your rod is stickin turn it up a bit... Welds so much nicer on dc.... Good luck

    Too small of a shop at 40 X 59.

    convert rod size to decimal, thats your starting point, for example, 1/8" rod is .125, 125 is your starting point

    Hi,
    I suggest you to concern to expert while working of this project, You may require lot to know more about Hobart 35/160 AC/DC welding. In some scenario it might be danger if you are proficient.
