Problem with Spoolmatic 30a: Wire speed turns itself down

I have a spoolmatic 30a hooked up to a miller 350 welder. The problem i am having is that the wire speed keeps turning itself down. I have it at a certain setting, then after about 10 minutes of welding, i'll look over at the machine and the wire feed speed is slowly dropping. Then, if you kind of give the gun a little love tap, the wire speed comes right back up! I am pretty much a welding novice, I am actually welding on my fishing boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't even know where to start.

Too many variables, but I'd go with a near busted wire in the gun itslf.
