purchased a dynasty200dx s/n mc110267l. when i plugged in the foot pedal (model rfcs-14hd) help code 10 showed on screen. manual states that indicates torch trigger depressed. does that mean contactor switch is bad in pedal or problem is in welder? any diagnostic advice regarding testing would be great. thanks, tom.

Tap the pedal a few times, may be sticky on the heel side.

The stupid little micro switch in the pedal seems to have a problem with staying adjusted properly or more correctly the the little arm on the switch. With the welder off you can cycle the pedal and listen for the click when it engages. More than likely it won't snap until you put some off(heel) pressure on it. I've had to adjust the one at work a time or two. My brand new pedal at home needed a little "tweeking" to work properly. You can get creative and "adjust" through the little hole in the top of the pedal. Waaaayyyyy easier than taking the pedal apart. Don't ask me how I know either.

disconnect the foot control then apply power- if NO help 10 code then the issue is definatly in you foot control. if you have bought it within 90 days then it is still under warranty and will need to be taken care of by the warranty repair pros. if there is still a help 10 code with it disconnected, then there is probably a short in the display board and will (once again) need to be taken care of by the authorised warranty repair guys
